Most EUC apps are phone apps. The phone connects to the wheel, runs the alarms and records the ride; a watch, if you have one, shows what the phone sends it. WheelDash works the other way round: the app runs on your watch. The watch connects to the wheel, and the phone is not needed while you ride.

The app runs on your watch

Phone app with a watch companion

  1. EUC
  2. Phone
  3. Watch

The watch is a second screen. If the phone app is put to sleep, runs out of battery or loses its connection, the watch has nothing to show.

WheelDash

  1. EUC
  2. Watch

The watch holds the connection, decodes the wheel data, runs the alarms and records the ride.

What that changes on a ride:

  • The phone can stay at home. Or in a bag, switched off, or flat. Nothing on the phone needs to keep running.
  • One link fewer. Data goes straight from the wheel to your wrist, with no second Bluetooth connection to drop and no phone app for the system to close in the background.
  • Any phone. WheelDash works the same with an iPhone or an Android phone. The phone is only used before and after the ride: for settings, and on Amazfit to load routes and upload rides.

On Amazfit watches, WheelDash is the EUC app that connects to the wheel itself. On Garmin, it is the standalone app for Begode, Extreme Bull, Leaperkim, NOSFET, KingSong and InMotion wheels.

Glasses and radar, from the watch

WheelDash connects ENGO glasses and a Garmin Varia radar to the watch directly, on every version and at no cost.

  • ENGO glasses show your ride data in your field of view. On Amazfit, you design the pages, alarms can take over the glasses, and navigation sends each turn to them.
  • Varia radar warns you of vehicles approaching from behind, on the watch and on the glasses, with its own alarms.

Made for Garmin

  • Your rides in Garmin Connect. Rides are saved as Garmin activities, with the wheel’s data in the FIT file.
  • Inside a Garmin activity. The Garmin Datafield adds WheelDash to any activity, so you keep Garmin’s own maps and navigation, and WheelDash forwards the turns to ENGO glasses.
  • Control the wheel. Sound the horn, cycle the lights and switch a speed limiter from a watch button, and change wheel settings from a menu on the watch.

Made for Amazfit

  • Navigation on the watch in France and USA. The route and its map are loaded onto the watch before the ride, then followed turn by turn with the watch’s own GPS. See navigation.
  • Dashboards you build. Any value, anywhere, as a number, a gauge or a bar. See dashboards.
  • Alarms you write. Combine readings, set when an alarm clears, and design its vibration. See alarms.
  • Wheel presets. Up to four sets of wheel settings, applied with one button. See presets.
  • The Ride Portal. Rides are encrypted on your phone before upload and stay private unless you share them. See the Ride Portal.

Free, not for profit

There are no ads and no subscription. Everything that runs on the watch is free and will stay free. The Ride Portal and navigation run on servers with a monthly bill: they are free today, paid for by donations, and may one day ask for a contribution set to cover those costs and nothing more. See donations.

When another app suits you better

  • Your watch is an Apple Watch or runs Wear OS. WheelDash runs on Garmin and Amazfit watches only.
  • You want the data on your phone’s screen too, on a handlebar mount for example. Most wheels accept only one Bluetooth connection at a time, so WheelDash and a phone app cannot both be connected.
  • You rely on phone features, such as voice announcements, video with telemetry overlays, live location sharing, or wheel firmware updates.
  • Your wheel is not supported. On Amazfit, EUC World mode shows WheelDash’s dashboard with data from the EUC World app on your phone, which covers more wheels, through the phone.

Thanks

WheelDash’s Garmin App took its inspiration from the WheelLog Garmin companion. The developers of WheelLog and eucWatch, Freestyl3r and Voltangle shared their work, and WheelDash would not exist without it.
